The San Francisco Chamber of Commerce is a nonprofit membership organization with a mission to attract, develop and retain business. Chamber members are diverse, and participate in our networking programs to grow their businesses, and in our public policy advocacy to better the business environment in San Francisco.

The Chamber by the Numbers

The Chamber was established in 1850 as a private business organization. Today, the Chamber is a 501(c)6 nonprofit organization, with a 501(c)3 foundation that includes Leadership San Francisco, the San Francisco Center for Economic Development and SF Works.

  • Companies of every size and industry, from every neighborhood in San Francisco and around the Bay Area
  • Small Business: 85 percent of Chamber members have fewer than 250 employees

  • 1 million annual referrals to member companies via phone, website, Chamber staff and programs

  • 8,000 subscribers to the Chamber’s weekly e-newsletter, the Monday Report
