Join the Chamber and our partner tour company for an exceptional nine-day trip to China, April 4-12, 2011. Experience the wonders of China in a way that only an experienced tour company can allow. This will be the Chamber’s third trip to China and is exceptional for all travelers – whether the seasoned expert or more cautious traveler. Members and prospective members are invited to attend.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 April 4 San Francisco/Beijing
Board a shuttle bus in the morning and travel to the San Francisco International Airport for a 1:55 pm flight to Beijing.

Day 2 April 5 Beijing
Arrive in Beijing, the capital of China at 6:15pm. You will be met by your local tour guide at the airport. Transfer to the hotel.

Day 3 April 6 Beijing
Visit the Tian An Men Square, the largest square in the world and the Temple of Heaven, built in 1420 A.D., where the emperors prayed to the heaven for a good harvest. Sightseeing also includes the Palace Museum, also known as the Forbidden City and home of 24 emperors with a total space of 9,999 rooms; the Summer Palace, which is known for its Long Corridor with painted gallery; Kunming Lake; Longevity Hill: Seventeen- Arch Bridge and Marble Boat.

Day 4 April 7 Beijing
Partake in a visit to the Great Wall, the 4,000- mile long and 2,000 years old construction that is said to be the only man-made structure visible by the naked eye from the moon. Visit the Ming Tombs, one of 13 Ming Emperors’ Tombs that is fully excavated and open for exploration. Enjoy a roasted Beijing duck dinner.

Day 5 April 8 Beijing/Shanghai/Suzhou
Morning flight to Shanghai, then visit Suzhou by bus. Evening dinner show will include traditional Chinese Music.

Day 6 April 9 Suzhou/Hangzhou
Enjoy morning sightseeing with visits to the centuries old Lingering Garden, Tiger Hill and Hanshan Temple. Visit to the National Embroidery Institute to see silk embroidery, an important local craft with a 1,000 year history. Take an afternoon tour bus journey to Hangzhou, where you will visit the Economic Development Zone.

Day 7 April 10 Hangzhou/Shanghai
Morning boat cruise on West Lake with relaxing stopovers at jewel-like pagodas and tea houses.  Visit to the centuries old Lingyin Temple and its renowned 64.3 ft-high camphor-wood carved Buddha. Journey that afternoon to Shanghai by bus.

Day 8 April 11 Shanghai
Sightseeing includes the Yu Garden, a maze of marvelous pavilions, ponds, rock sculptures and over-arching trees. Next on the itinerary is a visit to the Bund, a famous waterfront park in China. Business visit to the Pudong economic development zone.

Day 9 April 12 Shanghai/San Francisco
Take a morning flight to Beijing then depart on an evening flight to San Francisco. Arrive in San Francisco at 11:55am on the 12th. Bus return to the Chamber is provided.

$1,849 -  Double Occupancy by December 1, 2010
$2,299 -  Single Occupancy by December 1, 2010
$1,999 – Double Occupancy after December 1, 2010
$2,449 – Single Occupancy after December 1, 2010

Payment and Registration Deadline is Wednesday, December 15, 2010. Early registration discount is available if payment is received by December 1, 2010. Cancellations must occur no later than December 23, 2010 to receive a full refund.

Please Note: Securing or updating a passport is your responsibility. You may also take care of the required visa yourself. However, if you wish us to handle the visa application, you will need to provide us with your passport, a signed visa application form, two passport photos and $145 by January 7. We will return your passport to you within 10 working days.
