Discover China with SF Chamber

Join the Chamber and our partner tour company for an exceptional ten-day trip to China, April 20-29, 2010. Visit Tian An Men Square, the largest square in the world, in Beijing, take a bus excursion to the Great Wall, visit the centuries old Lingyin Temple in Hangzhou and many more memorable and historical sights. A detailed itinerary is below: 

Day 1

April 20 - San Francisco/Beijing

Board a shuttle bus in the morning and travel to the San Francisco International Airport for an afternoon flight #CA986 at 1:55 pm to Beijing.

 

Day 2

April 21 - Beijing

(King Wing Hotel/5-Star, 17 Dongsanhuan Rd. S., Tel: 86-10-67668866)

Arrive in Beijing at 6:15 pm. You will be met by your local tour guide at the airport. Transfer to the hotel.

 

Day 3

April 22 - Beijing

Visit the Tian An Men Square, the largest square in the world, and the Temple of Heaven, built in 1420 A.D., where the emperors prayed to the heaven for a good harvest. Sightseeing also includes the Palace Museum, also known as the Forbidden City, home of 24 emperors with a total space of 9,999 rooms, and the Summer Palace, known for the Long Corridor with painted gallery, Kunming Lake and Longevity Hill, Seventeen- Arch Bridge and Marble Boat.

 

Day 4

April 23 - Beijing

Tour bus excursion to the Great Wall, the 4,000- mile long and 2,000 years old construction that is said to be the only man-made structure visible by naked eye from the moon. Visit the Ming Tombs, one of 13 Ming Emperors’ Tombs that is fully excavated and open for exploration. Roasted Beijing Duck Dinner.

 

Day 5

April 24 - Beijing/Shanghai/Suzhou

Morning flight #CA1519 (departing at 9:30 am; arriving at 11:30 am) to Shanghai, then take the tour bus trip to Suzhou. Evening Dinner Show of the traditional Chinese Music.

 

Day 6

April 25 - Suzhou/Hangzhou

Morning sightseeing to the centuries old Lingering Garden, Tiger Hill and Hanshan Temple. Visit the National Embroidery Institute to see silk embroidery, an important local craft with 1,000 years history. Afternoon tour bus journey to Hangzhou. Visit the Economic Development Zone.

 

Day 7

April 26 - Hangzhou/Shanghai

(Guangdong Hotel - 5-Star, 328 Yixian Rd., Tel: 86-21-51171888)

Morning boat cruise on West Lake with relaxing stopover at jewel-like pagodas and tea houses. Visit the centuries old Lingyin Temple, with the main feature of the 64.3 ft-high camphor-wood carved Buddha. Afternoon tour bus trip to Shanghai.

                     

Day 8

April 27 - Shanghai

Sightseeing includes the Yu Garden, a maze of marvelous pavilions, ponds, rocky works and over arching trees. Visit to the Bund, a famous waterfront park. Business visit to the Pudong economic development zone.

 

Day 9

April 28 - Shanghai/San Francisco

Morning flight with a layover in Beijing. Afternoon flight #CA985 will depart by 5:15 pm for San Francisco where you will arrive at 11:55 am on the same day and return to the Chamber via shuttle bus.

Payment and Registration Deadline is Dec. 18. Cancellations must occur no later than January 1, 2010 to receive a full refund.

 

Please Note: Securing or updating a passport is your responsibility. You may also take care of the required visa yourself. However, if you wish us to handle the visa application, you will need to provide us with your passport, a signed visa application form, two passport photos and $145 by January 1. We will return your passport to you in a 10 working days.
