Guidelines for Submitting Speaker Proposals

The San Francisco Chamber of Commerce produces many events each year for which we need speakers. We plan as far in advance as possible and are pleased to accept speaker proposals on an ongoing basis.

Chamber programs are divided into the following series:

  • Business Success Series: Presents engaging speakers on topics of interest to sales, marketing and business development professionals as well as entrepreneurs who want to sharpen their skills.
  • Women in Business Roundtable: Networking breakfasts and evening workshops for professional business women and women business owners.
  • XLR8: Quarterly events featuring business executives
  • Member-led Workshops: Weekly seminars conducted by Chamber members in different areas of expertise

Speaker proposals should include the following information:

  • Contact information (address, phone, fax and e-mail)
  • A summary or outline of what information the speaker will present
  • The name(s) of the series for which you are submitting the proposal
  • A definition of the target audience. E.g. a general business audience, a certain size company (i.e. sole proprietors, mid-size companies), a certain industry (i.e. professional services, business technology), a certain type of person (women, middle-managers, CEOs), etc.
  • Where this person has spoken before and any references

We always appreciate audio or video tapes of presentations that the speaker has done in the past, but these are not required.

Send all other proposals attention:

All of our series have planning committees, composed of Chamber member volunteers, who review proposals and assist us in selecting appropriate topics and speakers. Once a proposal is received, it will be referred to the relevant committee for consideration. If the committee approves the proposal, you will be contacted to finalize a date for the presentation, further discuss and tailor the presentation to our specific audience and/or provide us with further information (content for the marketing materials, speaker bio, photo, a/v requirements, etc.)

Thank you for your interest in speaking at a San Francisco Chamber of Commerce program!
