Chamber Launches New Workers’ Compensation Member Benefit
As a California employer, you are required by law to purchase Workers’ Compensation insurance to pay for injuries sustained by employees while on the job.

The rates employers pay for Workers’ Compensation insurance are set by the California Workers’ Compensation Rating Bureau (WCIRB). Recently, the WCIRB filed for a 24.4% pure premium rate increase, to become effective July 1, 2009. If approved by the Insurance Commissioner, private insurers will increase their rates by an equivalent amount.

In anticipation of this potential rate increase, the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Lockton Insurance Brokers and ACE Insurance Company to offer Chamber members a discount Workers’ Compensation insurance program.
