Carmel
Mission
San
Carlos Borromeo is believed by many to be the most beautiful
of all California missions. It is here that Fr. Serra
made his headquarters for his California missionary

A year after its founding, the mission was moved from
Monterey to a beautiful site in Carmel Valley.

Deriving
its name from the offshore rocks at Punta de los
Lobos Marinos, Point of the Sea Wolves, where the
sound of the sea lions carries inland, the reserve
has often been called "the crown jewel of the State
Park System." Point Lobos has offered many things
to millions of people who have visited it over the
years. Point Lobos State Reserve has outstanding
passive recreation values, such as sightseeing,
photography, painting, nature study, picnicking,
SCUBA diving, and jogging. In addition to the spectacular
beauty, nearly every aspect of its resources is
of scientific interest. There are rare plant communities,
endangered archeological sites, unique geological
formations, and incredibly rich flora an fauna of
both land and sea.
Some
of the most spectacular and challenging golf courses
in the world are located on the Monterey Peninsula.
You can play alongside the spectacular Pacific coast
and watch the waves break against the rocks, among
wooded forests while the deer stroll across the
fairway, or among beautiful oak studded hills with
views stretching to the Pacific Ocean. All of the
golf courses listed below are within 20 minutes
driving time of each other. Please call the golf
pro shop for more information.
